Tool Head Options for the ATOM Flashcut Dieless Knife Cutting System

The multi-tool cutting head consists of 5 tool stations. The main cutting tool station accepts a variety of 40mm chucks; fixed knife chuck, EOK electric oscillating knife chuck, PNEU pneumatic oscillating knife chuck, pneumatic milling chuck or the PRC powered rotary cutting tool. Two auxiliary stations are included to accept punching, creasing or kiss-cutting tools with a diameter of 20mm. A single plotting pen and pricker tool round out the group. One machine now becomes a multi-functional production system since the above tools can be added at any time in the future.

The 4-Tool cutting head with camera was designed for graphics and printed materials. Controlled by ATOM’s own unique software, the camera is used to automatically recognize the fiducial points on the printed material and then cut around the desired pattern. The same tooling combination as the 5-Tool head can be fitted: 1 ea. 40mm knife chuck, 2 ea. 20mm auxiliary tools and one ea. plotting pen.

3-Tool Cutting Head

The new 3-Tool cutting head with three tangential controlled tools allows simultaneous utilization of the following positions: Position 1 – PRC, PNEU or EOK knife chuck. Position 2 – Drag knife, creaser, kiss-cutting tool or punch-drill #1. Position 3 – Drag knife, creaser, kiss-cutting tool or punch-drill #2.

EMH Electric Milling Head

The EMH is comes standard with a 1 kW electric milling spindle and equipped with an automatic dust extraction system to leave the cutting surface free to dust and scrap. Various plastics, acrylics, phenolics, rubber polymers, light metals and alloys can be milled with exceptional accuracy and quality.

Tool Head Combinations for the Flashcut High Daylight (HD) Series

The single tool cutting head can be fitted with various 40mm chucks; PNEU pneumatic oscillating knife chuck, EOK electric oscillating knife chuck and the pneumatic milling chuck for foams and similar materials up to 130mm in thickness.

The double tool cutting head was designed primarily for the packaging industry that processes various foams and corrugated. The main tool station can be fitted with either the PNEU or EOK knife chuck and the second tool station can be fitted with a heavey duty creaser chuck.

*Please note that the HD series dieless knife cutting system is equipped with an interchangeable tool head facility for companies who cut thick foams as well as  gaskets in their various forms (6mm non-asbestos or tang graphoil), the foam cutting head can be interchanged with the multi-tool cutting head to process the hard gasket products. Changeover time is less than five minutes.


EMHD 2-Z Tool Head (Milling & Cutting Combination)

The new EMHD tool head was designed primarily for companies that produce foam case inserts, specialty packaging and sound proof components up to 100mm in thickness. The EMHD head is equipped with one single tool cutting head fitted to receive a PNEU chuck and one powerful electric milling head, 3 kW / 50,000 RPM and liquid cooled designed to work 24 hours a day. To keep the working area perfectly clean, a dust extraction system comes standard and the exhauster pipe is perfectly integrated into the beam structure to avoid any possible interference while working.
